Storm Restoration Update
As of 12:00 PM on July 6, 2026, Eversource is reporting 842 customers (10.7%) without power in Wilton. Town leadership continues to work closely with Eversource’s liaison to track restoration progress and identify priorities. Following the July 4 storm, during which 23 roads were blocked by trees or downed electrical equipment, crews from Eversource, Wilton DPW, and the Connecticut DOT have now cleared 19 roads, allowing the transition from blocked-road clearance to the general restoration phase. This protocol protects both residents and utility crews and ensures that restoration work proceeds efficiently once dangerous conditions are mitigated.
Since the storm hit Eversource has already restored 1,200 customers. They currently have a crew on site on Millstone Rd addressing a 220 customer outage and a crew assigned to a 139-customer outage on Chestnut Hill Road. Additional crews have been assigned to address outages on Ruscoe Road, Ridgefield Road, and Liberty Street, but have not arrived on scene yet.
We thank our partners at Eversource, the Wilton Department of Public Works, and the Connecticut Department of Transportation for their coordinated efforts to reopen roads and advance restoration.
The Comstock Community Center (180 School Road) is open today until 9:00 PM for device charging and internet access.
Potable water is available at Wilton Fire Headquarters, please bring your own containers.
With more rainfall expected today and potential flooding, please use caution on roads and avoid flooded areas.
