Accident Reconstruction
The Accident Reconstruction Team reconstructs a crash event, including determining vehicle speeds when possible, events leading to the crash, and analysis of other roadway evidence to ultimately determine the cause of the crash. This team utilizes specific equipment to aid their investigations including a Total Station laser measuring device, and computer software used for creating scale forensic diagrams.
The members of the team include:
- Lt. Gregg Phillipson, Supervisor of the Crash Reconstruction Team, has been a member of the Department for over 17 years and has investigated numerous serious motor vehicle crashes during his career. Gregg has received training in At-Scene and advanced crash investigation and Crash Reconstruction, along with motorcycle, bicycle and pedestrian crash reconstruction.
- Officer Paul Lichtenberger has been a Wilton Police Officer for over 17 years and has also investigated numerous serious vehicle crashes during his career. Paul has also attended the At-Scene and Advanced Crash Investigation courses and Crash Reconstruction. In addition, Paul completed training in motorcycle crash investigations.
- Officer Wojtek Brodzinski has been with the Department for over 5 years and has completed training in At-Scene and Advanced Crash Investigation, as well as motorcycle crash investigations.
