New Officers
The Wilton Police Department announces the swearing-in of two new officers, marking an investment in the future of Wilton policing.
Officer Matthew Guzman: He was joined by his parents, and proudly embraces his Colombian heritage. Officer Guzman served honorably in the United States Navy from 2019 to 2023 as a Master-at-Arms with Naval Security Forces. During deployments to Bahrain and Romania, he supervised as many as 80 sailors. He is currently pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Criminology at Norwalk Community College. His military experience, leadership background, and commitment to service will be valuable assets to the Department.
Officer Konrad Dziedzic: The son of first-generation Polish immigrants, Officer Dziedzic takes great pride in his heritage. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Entrepreneurship from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. For nearly a decade he has volunteered as a teacher within his church community in Stamford, reflecting a longstanding dedication to service and mentorship.
Both officers will begin six months at the Police Academy, followed by three months of field training.
While the road ahead will be demanding, they were reminded that they now belong to two families—their loved ones at home and the men and women of the Wilton Police Department. Support will never be in short supply.
